FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 03/16
Well its a quiet and dry morning in downtown Frederic, more and more dirt showing thru each day and rain is supposed to be coming. I did see 2 sleds at the Swamp yesterday and the day before, I am thinking it was the same people. Still nothing I want to dry skid in. So thats it for trails here but the 3 old guys to alaska are tough and still rolling. Pic below I borrrowed from one of their updates, take a good close look at the supplies they are all hauling with them. Today they are in Stony Rapids Saskatchewan. Look that up on the map and see how far north they are up there. What an adventure. All 3 of them are riding arctic cat norsemens so at least they can exchange parts if they need . With all the extra gas they are hauling that has to be alot of weight. A couple nights ago they were camped out so they are prepared for most anything. Thats about it for today. Thanks for checking in. U.P. may get hit with some snow in the next couple of days so that would be nice for them. Pete
FROM Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> I need to post this image again because WOW. I can't recall the last time nearly all of the United States was forecast to be below average. Before anyone gets on the "SEE CLIMATE CHANGE IS FAKE" train... one of these below average maps DOES NOT negate the other 500 above average ones. Trends, folks. Trends. Nothing is a straight line. The warming temperature trend line is full of peaks and valleys with an overall increasing trend. 🙂 #miweather #keweenaw#westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea#petoskey#gaylord#cadillac#traversecityI need to post this image again because WOW. After Thanksgiving, a large portion of the U.S. will likely see below normal temperatures into early December. And of course, there's southern Florida. 🌞
