NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA – 03/27 We groomed north to Holland lake Saturday night and back south last night. We did not groom anything else due to low traffic and warm weather. With the traffic over the weekend even though we had fresh snow the trails south are thin, The north trails are reported as good though. We did receive about 12 inches of fresh snow Saturday, It is currently 36 degrees and sunny. Widespread 8-12 inches are forecast; higher amounts in excess of 2 feet are forecast across the higher terrain of Marquette and Baraga Counties into Thursday morning. Note: A sharp gradient in snow totals is expected just inland from the Great Lake-especially along the Lake Superior shoreline in Baraga and Marquette Counties. Wet snow combined with strong northerly winds may cause sporadic power outages. Trail 9: Groomed Saturday night north and last night south. Reported as good. Logging be operations are finished and county roads 415 and 422 are now being groomed but snow is still a bit thin.
Trail 498: Goomed last night. Good.
Trail 45: Not Groomed last night. fair condition. There is logging on the trail shortly after you jump on Trail 45 just past the Logging museum off of M-123. There is also be logging about 3 miles North of Skyline Road off to the right. Please use extreme caution in these areas! Both portions are being plowed and could be bumpy or rutted. Very Good in spots
Trial 9/2: Not Groomed last night due to lack of snow. Conditions being reported as poor.
