FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 12/05
Its still white out there but for how long, supposed to be up to 45 to 50 on friday with rain on saturday. Pics below are all from this morning about 11 in Frederic, Had a guy call me yesterday about coming up to ride and I told him I wouldnt but he came anyways and then came in to see me later in the afternoon and said that he was glad he didnt listen to me. He started at 4 mile road and up to starvation lake and to Frederic and was at 60 miles then. While he said it was pretty decent for him he said that if there were ten more sleds going the same route he did it would be into the dirt. In any case he was happy he came. I only saw a few other sleds yesterday along with the Gaylord groomer panning the trail north . I saw it on my run to Gaylord yesterday. The wait is still on for real winter. I might skip some days on updates if there isnt anything happening on the snow. Thanks for checking in. Pete
FROM Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> I need to post this image again because WOW. I can't recall the last time nearly all of the United States was forecast to be below average. Before anyone gets on the "SEE CLIMATE CHANGE IS FAKE" train... one of these below average maps DOES NOT negate the other 500 above average ones. Trends, folks. Trends. Nothing is a straight line. The warming temperature trend line is full of peaks and valleys with an overall increasing trend. 🙂 #miweather #keweenaw#westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea#petoskey#gaylord#cadillac#traversecityI need to post this image again because WOW. After Thanksgiving, a large portion of the U.S. will likely see below normal temperatures into early December. And of course, there's southern Florida. 🌞
