Gaylord Bureau – December 30, 2023 – 5:45 p.m. Trails are still in poor condition due to lack of snow. Keep your fingers crossed for some fresh powder soon! Its about noon on friday in downtown Frederic. Predictions of snow for next week but in watching the news this morning they show above freezing for the 7 days so who knows what is going to happen. The wait is still on. A big thank you to Chuck & Kathy Zinner who dropped me off a can of Buffalo Snow. It was a nice thought but I need about a million more cans of it. It did make me want to put my buffalo robe on. I like the way the snow sits in the fur. It needs to get alot colder for me to wear it. All pics are from today. Temperatures also climb above freezing through the overnight, remaining there until Thursday evening. The bad news is that gusty winds return late tonight into Thursday. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. This could lead to dangerous conditions for those without power or a safe source of heat. Does anyone have any information that would explain why Antrim County was excluded from the the governor’s State of Emergency?
