Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/08
1/8/24 24 degrees this morning and cloudy. Here`s a quick update from yesterday cause I promised. The group of 4 guys that hit the Falls trail said it is still WAY too muddy yet and the gates remain closed….don`t even think about it for now. The weather guessers are calling for a winter storm watch starting tomorrow morning and are saying we might get upwards of 6-10 inches through out the next couple days. So there you have it. Not quite ready yet but gettin close. If we can get a foot of snow outa this next system we will be even closer. I`m headin out the door and goin South with 3 other guys. Widespread 8-12 inches are forecast; higher amounts in excess of 2 feet are forecast across the higher terrain of Marquette and Baraga Counties into Thursday morning. Note: A sharp gradient in snow totals is expected just inland from the Great Lake-especially along the Lake Superior shoreline in Baraga and Marquette Counties. Wet snow combined with strong northerly winds may cause sporadic power outages. Both groups reported that the water levels seemed to be lower than normal…which is good. The guys that hit the Point trail side ran just where we have a water problem on the far NW side. They said it turned out better than expected and its actually ridable. The snow is thin of course, but with the snow we are expecting tomorrow it just might be good to go shortly.
