TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club – 01/10 We received 5-6 inches of wet heavy snow, perfect for base snow. Groomer Pat and Groomer Jeff went out and panned the trails today. Some areas were snirty while other areas layed down nicely. We have our fingers crossed that the storm forecasted this weekend drops a load of snow. Think snow and do the dance. This will lead to any wetness re-freezing on area roadways, which could lead to icy roadways and/or black ice formation tonight through Friday morning. Back roads, which became slushy today will refreeze as well, leading to complicated driving conditions.
