CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Coyote Crossing Resort – 01/13 TRAIL BASE: 1-3″ Hello Sledders! Trails were rapidly improving last night as we rode a few miles! Hopefully groomer active will start later today or tomorrow. Snow coverage in our whole Cadillac trail system should be adequate now! Nice moisture to this snow really should pack in well. Forecast is calling for additional inches throughout the day. M-55 is snow covered, but has been plowed. We’re excited to kick off the season! Gonna keep this short, as I have to get back to plowing!! Working on clearing out around Coyote now. Head out and enjoy this snow, and support the local businesses! Temperatures also climb above freezing through the overnight, remaining there until Thursday evening. The bad news is that gusty winds return late tonight into Thursday. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. This could lead to dangerous conditions for those without power or a safe source of heat. Does anyone have any information that would explain why Antrim County was excluded from the the governor’s State of Emergency?
