Gaylord Area Trail Report – 01/21
Gaylord Bureau – January 19, 2024 – 8:56 a.m. The snow we received last week and over the weekend gave our trails the boost they needed. Groomers have been out during the day and at night and trails are in good shape. We could use some moisture in the air to help pack the snow down to create a better base. There may still be areas where snow is drifting, but the groomers keep making their passes through all the trails. Check back for updates and trail conditions. Please remember that groomers have the right of way and kindly move off the trail so they can safely proceed. If you approach a groomer from behind, the operator will signal when it’s safe for you to pass. Groomers are here to make your ride more enjoyable so please be courteous! Had a call yesterday from a guy looking for someone to get his sled out of ten feet of water. Also be sure to stay away from the RR tracks, railroad tresspass is an expensive tickeet. Just stay as far as you can from the tracks. Its a sunny 18 degrees at about 11:30 on sunday morning. Lots of sleds out all day saturday and traffic has been hit and miss so far this morning. I went to the Swamp this morning for the breakfast buffet. They do a great job and that and I was surprised how many people were in there at 9:30 this morning. I am fat and full now. Try it when you are up here, they do it on saturday and sunday mornings. For the second time this week someone told me they looked Sledheads of Frederic up on google and it shows me 14 miles north of Frederic. I am trying to figure that mess out but just remember I am only one store and in downtown Frederic which is exit 264 on I 75. Its now up toalmost 1 o,clock, to much sun out there but still 22 degrees. Thanks for checking in. We'll have light snow Wednesday morning for the commute with heavy snow in the existing lake effect heavy prone areas. The Wednesday evening commute looks like garbage since we'll have strong winds and heavy snow coming down for ALL areas of Michigan.
