Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 12/09
We got out this afternoon to try out trail 7 heading north. Obviously with no grooming and sleds that have been on it, it is rough. In the narrow valleys and around corners there are spots where it is down to the dirt. There is enough snow around on sides to get around those bare areas. If you are eager to get out and ride, there is snow enough to do that. Great riding on two tracks through the woods. If you are going to ride the trail as it gets north out of Gaylord snow is very thin, and further north getting to no snow on trail. Head west and you are going to have much more snow to ride and enjoy… they got much more lake effect just a short distance to the west of us. Weather forecast is promising for snow overnight thru tomorrow. And then another big storm heading for us Sunday. We need that snow for the groomers to get out and begin their work. We have been told that trail 4 will be completely signed by this Tuesday.
