Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> North-northwest lake effect snow continues overnight before backing to the north wind snowbelts early Monday morning. Confidence is increasing that a heavy snowband will move into the central U.P. during the morning commute hours Monday. Take it slow on ice and snow!
As lake effect snow persists through the day, snow accumulations near 2-4" are possible, less near the lakeshores, and locally higher 10-12" are possible in western Alger and northern Delta counties.
Lake effect snow finally begins to taper off Tuesday before a clipper system brings widespread light snow late into Wednesday.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Persistent northwest flow over Lake Superior will continue moderate to heavy lake effect snow across the northwest wind snow belts through the weekend. Please continue to exercise caution if traveling through these areas. Less snowfall is expected across the central UP and nearshore Marquette area where lake effect snow bands are not favored to set up. Sunday, winds are expected to back to the north-northwest, potentially favoring accumulating lake effect snow in the central UP. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsareaPersistent northwest flow over Lake Superior will continue moderate to heavy lake effect snow across the northwest wind snow belts through the weekend. ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Scott's Superior Inn and Cabins >> ❄️ Winter Wonderland Alert! ❄️
The snow has officially arrived, and Mother Nature has outdone herself—nearly 2 feet of fresh, powdery snow has blanketed the area, with even more in the forecast! 🌨️ If you’ve been dreaming of winter adventures, this is your sign!
We’re thrilled to share that some of the local Snowmobile Club are hard at work and has plans to begin setting the trails starting next week. 🛷 These early preparations are crucial to ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride for everyone all season long.
🚨 A friendly reminder: During this critical trail-setting phase, we kindly ask all snowmobilers to hold off from using the trails until they’re officially ready. Riding on the trails too soon can make it challenging for the grooming process and affect the quality of the trails for the months to come. Let’s work together to kick off this season right!
We can’t wait to welcome you to this snowy paradise—whether you’re here for the trails, the views, or cozying up at Scott’s Superior Inn and Cabins, where Lake Superior is the perfect backdrop for your winter getaway.
Stay tuned for updates, and let the countdown to an epic snowmobiling season begin! ❄️✨ #snowphotos #ontonagon #westernup❄️ Winter Wonderland Alert! ❄️
