HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 12/01 Happy December 1st! Mother Nature kicked on the snow guns for numerous areas across the state, but unfortunately bypassed ours. We currently have 4-5 inches of snow on the ground, which is a promising start, but insufficient for riding. We are seeing reports that Gaylord, Jordan Valley, and several clubs across the UP were out grooming today. As soon as we have adequate snow to ride, we will update you here. <> <> WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Ongoing heavy lake effect snow will continue to organize. Snowfall totals of 12-18" are expected across areas southeast of Grand Traverse Bay near Kalkaska. Localized amounts of 18"+ are possible by Monday morning. Snowfall rates of 1" to 3" per hour will lead to rapid accumulations on roads and near-zero visibility underneath heaviest banding, creating dangerous travel conditions.
