Snow, baby, snow! We’re having an epic start to snowmobile season and the Gaylord area currently has over 40 inches, with more in the forecast!
The groomers have been running since trails opened on December 1st. All trails are open and in good shape. Please remember that even with the fresh snow we received, we are still building up our base. Groomers will keep running as we receive more snow.
A few things to remember about groomers:
– Groomers are out there to help you have a better riding experience and always have the right of way. – Please move off the trail when groomers are coming and allow them to safely pass. – If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass. – Grooming can take place at any time during the day or night. – Have fun and stay safe!

Its been a quiet and calm friday morning in snowy downtown Fredericanville. No new snow and no plowing for me overnight. Just a little touch up here and there. A few sleds in so far this morning and I expect there will be a good amount in this morning. Took my first drive thru the motel parking lots in Grayling and not to busy with a total of 13 trailers between Days Inn and Ramada. I cant say I am thrilled with the weather reports for the next couple days but we are surely off to a agreat start so far. Parking is an issue, I am full down at storage and people are parking in my back lot. If you want to park daily back there come inside and see me. Pic below is from this mornings first group of sleds. I also forgot to mention yesterdfay that on my return trip from the bridge the other night and south of Waters the Gaylord Groomer was deep off the trail in the ditch. I am sure that was a big project to get that out. Thanks for checking in and Please ride Safely. Pete

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Lake effect snow showers off Lake Michigan and a Clipper system will combine for wet snow accumulations today. The highest snowfall accumulations in the U.P. are expected from Manistique eastward through the Mackinac Bridge with 2" to 5" inches of wet snow possible. Slippery road conditions are expected. Allow for some extra commuting time this morning; especially along the M-28 and US-2 runs. If traveling to or from the Lower Peninsula, plan for additional travel time as there is greater chance for 4" to 6" inches of wet snowfall across much of the northern L.P. #miweather #keweenaw#westernup#marquette#munising#newberry #soo #straitsarea#petoskey#gaylordLake effect snow showers off Lake Michigan and a Clipper system will combine for wet snow accumulations today. WEATHER UPDATE via Great Lakes Weather & Climate >> We crunched some data and wanted to share our snow totals forecast through 7 AM EST on Christmas Eve (12/24). As stated with our earlier posts, the precip types should be a snow/sleet mix as you head north of the I-96 corridor. The Saginaw Bay, Thumb and northern half of the lower peninsula should remain all snow. The tricky part is the snow and freezing rain potential south of I-96, including the I-94 corridor. As of this post, icy roads have shut down portions of I-94 west of Jackson. Please take your time on the roads today and be ready for rapidly changing road conditions. #miweather #gaylord#cadillac#benzie#traversecity#petoskey #soo #newberry#straitsareaWe crunched some data and wanted to share our snow totals forecast through 7 AM EST on Christmas Eve (12/24).
