Harbor Springs Trail Report – 12/07
HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 12/07 We got roughly 3” of snow yesterday with a few more coming today. We started panning on Thursday & depending on the night time temperatures will resume tonight or tomorrow night. We are off to a great start for the season but please remember that it’s early season conditions, we don’t have enough snow to fill in all the ruts, cover all the rocks, and the water holes are still open and deep. Ride safe out there! ⚠️ Loggers have plowed trail 705, Moose Jaw Road, and part of 704, Teal road, so avoid these areas (See map below in red). If you’re traveling to Moose Jaw Junction you’ll want to take trail 71 straight to 704, & turn onto 721. <> <> WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Mostly cloudy today with light winds. Light snow will begin to blossom into more widespread snow late tonight, resulting in potentially unpleasant travel conditions for the Monday morning commute. Allow for some extra commuting time this morning; especially along the M-28 and US-2 runs. We are getting reports that the trails are pretty decent, no dirt spots but still hitting rocks here and there. We do not have any plans to resume grooming, we need more snow.

As stated with our earlier posts, the precip types should be a snow/sleet mix as you head north of the I-96 corridor. The Saginaw Bay, Thumb and northern half of the lower peninsula should remain all snow.
The tricky part is the snow and freezing rain potential south of I-96, including the I-94 corridor. As of this post, icy roads have shut down portions of I-94 west of Jackson.
