TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club – 12/12 Groomer Dave did his solo today. Dave did the east route. He said that it’s early season conditions with some wet spots that should freeze up tonight. The snow gets thinner the farther south he went. Good job Dave! He is reporting 6-12 inches of fresh depending on where you are on the trail system. Good early season riding. Get it while you can, warm up again on Sunday. This will lead to any wetness re-freezing on area roadways, which could lead to icy roadways and/or black ice formation tonight through Friday morning. Back roads, which became slushy today will refreeze as well, leading to complicated driving conditions. I’m 7 miles south of pine stump and we’ve gotten well over 2 foot in the last 48 hours alone. There’s way more than 50” out there. Way more than 75 even.
