NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Halfway Lake Cottages, LLC >> 01/05

Had a great day on the trails today – probably best ride we have had in many years! Trail 9 was awesome – ride from here to Pine Stump and back! Only complaint was Sophia still fell asleep! 😀 We did see and report the burned sled – it was removed quickly so not still there! We pray everyone is ok from that!

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association >> Trail Update: 1/5/2024

We groomed 9 North 498 and 45 to the falls. Looking at Groomer Tracker Seney made their way across 431 to us and Grand Marais came across 8 over to us as well. Should be a great Sunday. It snowed on and off all weekend. I think we’ve picked up between 8 and 10 inches of lake affect in the north country.

We did run 45 to the falls and opened the gates. There are atill a couple of water holes on either side of 510 that we are going to try to address today. There were some down trees as well. Make sure to give a big thanks to all our drivers and volunteers keeping things going.

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 1/8/25
5 degrees this morning under a clear sky. I have picked up about 2" of fresh snow in the last 24 hrs. here at my place. I need to start out with an apology for yesterdays report. I messed up the days we are runnin. We hit the high ground trails yesterday and taking today off for maintenance, sorry, so here we go......
Groomer Mike H. ran the Point trails #452 and #453 yesterday and called them good +. The thin spots are gettin better but he did skip the ridge along Doe Lake road cause thats still pretty thin, but still ridable, you`ll hit a lot of roots so be careful.
Groomer Keith ran the Pine Stump trail #8 and called that good with the thin spots gettin better also. The rest of yesterday report still holds.
With these colder temps I have high hopes we can start freezing in the wet areas so keep checking back.
All I have fer today.
LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CURTIS AREA UPDATE via Curtis Area Trail Association >> During our meltdown hiatus, we've been busy doing groomer maintenance and ended up pulling one burned up sled off the trail.
We have recently restarted the freeze down efforts on wet sections of trail 43, South of Sandtown Rd and also Trail 43 West of Curtis between Barrett Rd and Long Point Rd. There are also logging operations on two sections of the trail between Barrett Rd and Wolf Rd. Trail is rutted with very thin snow.
Trail 2, North of H40 (Hiawatha Trail) is also being logged, again rutted with thin snow cover.
Due to the overall lack of snow and wet areas, we have not groomed since the meltdown. We have been getting colder temps in aiding with the freeze down, but desperately needing more snow to work with.
As with most LE snows, snow cover does vary, the further north you go the snow depths do improve. #curtis #newberry #snowphotos

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

SENEY AREA UPDATE via Seney Snowmobile Association >> Here’s the current trail update so everyone knows. All our trails north of M-28 are in good shape. Trail 43 heading south is not currently being groomed due to loggers are down there and the rd is being plowed. Nothing we can do about that sorry folks. It’s rideable but not great. Trail 43 has a couple water holes and we have detour signs up to avoid that area. Once it freezes in we will take the signs down and reopen that part of the trail. Trail 431 is in great shape. Trail 440 is in great shape. Trail 8 to the Bear trap is in great shape. We do have 2 park in rides one is in Seney and the other is off M-77 north of Seney about 4 miles. If you’re planing on coming up you are good to go. We know there’s not much snow in the lower and south of M-28 but once your to the north of M-28 it is good. If you have a trip planed come on up and enjoy it. Remember ride right and stay safe out there. #seney #newberry ... See MoreSee Less

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 1/7/25
15 degrees this morning under partly cloudy skies. No new snow to speak of in the last couple days, don`t really see any coming in the next few days either....bummer.
I was talking with da boss yesterday and we came up with a grand plan for the next few days. We will take today off and do a little maintenance on the machines. Tomorrow we will run the high ground trails, Pine Stump and the Point trails. Thursday I am gonna take a machine and a drag and go check out trail #8 south then Friday we will take 2 machines and check out the water situation on the Falls trail #45 then Saturday hit the high ground trails again. We will go by what the Falls trail looks like before we even think about going into the swamp south of town.
Just an FYI. The water levels in the wet area`s are the highest we have ever seen cause of all the snow we had early in December and then it all melted. This is the reason we are having such a hard time in the Falls trail and the trail south of town, even in the Federal forest section where that is really flooded in there. We are hoping the last few days have drained some of the water and the cold temps have froze some of it in. Now ya`ll know what da plan is, soooo..........
LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
