Gaylord Area Trail Report – 01/13

Gaylord Bureau –

January 13, 2025

11:45 a.m

We’re currently under a winter weather advisory and it looks like the flurries will stick around throughout the week. The trails are holding steady in fair condition, with grooming set to resume once we get a bit more snow. Trails are a little choppy for now, but stay tuned as that will likely change with the snow headed our way. Enjoy the ride and stay safe!

Check out this live feed to see trail #7, just north of Gaylord.

A few things to remember about groomers:

– Groomers are out there to help you have a better riding experience and always have the right of way.
– Please move off the trail when groomers are coming and allow them to safely pass.
– If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass.
– Grooming can take place at any time during the day or night.
– Have fun and stay safe!

Sledheads of Frederic – 01/13

It’s noon on monday in downtown Frederic, there was a little snowfall overnight but I have seen no sleds out and about today. Yesterday it was slow around frederic but I checked the first trailhead parking 2 miles west of grayling on 72 and there were only 4 trucks there. Then I went out in the hills just past the Black Bear Inn and that far west parking lot about 12 miles from grayling and there must have been 30 trucks and trailers in there. It was jam packed and that is because all the snow is north and west of here. Lets see if it keeps coming this week. I wish we really needed the loader to pile up the snow with. Thanks for checking in. Pete
