CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Coyote Crossing Resort – 01/13 New Snow Last 24 hrs: 4-5″ Hello- Got 3-4” in last day with some rain/snow mix and then fresh snow on top … there likely will be some spot grooming done, but don’t want to disturb the base too much yet … When dirt gets mixed in with the snow, we lose the rigidity of the ice base. Several people were riding this past weekend, but decent conditions were very localized from Coyote up to Mesick. Check out Coyote webcam for current pictures. Temperatures also climb above freezing through the overnight, remaining there until Thursday evening. The bad news is that gusty winds return late tonight into Thursday. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. This could lead to dangerous conditions for those without power or a safe source of heat.
