SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 01/16
1/16/25 🚨🚨heads up! A rider reported a hump of snow that fell off of the drag on 889 west of the Mission Hill Overlook. He marked it with pink caution tape, and I have informed the groomer boss out there.
Thanks for the heads up, Troy!
These photos are from Groomer Warren’s run out there earlier. Looking great out there!
Always watch for potential hazards, it happens in this business. Be safe everyone!
**edit! 4:30 PM- Super Dave went out there with a shovel and leveled off the bump. He’ll be out in the AM with the Dubie Drag to smooth it over again. The caution tape was left up just in case. Thanks Dave!!!***

Otherwise, expect temperatures in the 30s today to rapidly drop back into the single digits and teens tonight, with light lake effect snow developing in the NW wind belts. Southerly winds ramp up on Friday with around a 3 hour window of 40-50 mph gusts expected along the north central lakeshores.
