WATERSMEET / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via U.P. Thunder Riders Snowmobile Club – 01/17 We are out on a ride today took trail 13 to trail 2 going east towards Watersmeet overall pretty good so far some rocks . Trail 2 east of town is a little thin in spots until trail 3. Took 3 north and the first part is ok but gets better the farther north you go. All the pictures are on trail 3 between trail 2 and where we meet with the sno-valley club. Groomers have been out daily doing the best they can with the snow we have <> <> Reports via: U.P. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Winds will be blustery today, starting off from the south before shifting to the NW tonight. Wind gusts up to 20-30mph will be common, but higher gusts in excess of 40 mph are expected across the Keweenaw and closer to Lake Superior. Otherwise, expect temperatures in the 30s today to rapidly drop back into the single digits and teens tonight, with light lake effect snow developing in the NW wind belts. Southerly winds ramp up on Friday with around a 3 hour window of 40-50 mph gusts expected along the north central lakeshores. As you can see in the pictures we had some pins fail on one of our drags that was going to run a good portion of our system tonight. Thing's break and we have no control over it. On the plus side 8w to Wakefield was groomed tonight but I don't believe it will last. One area has flowing water and does not want to freeze. We'll most likely have to install a temporary culvert. 102, 1n, 8w,8e All are being groomed tonight. 8e to Ewen is thin. 102 is wonderful. 1n is wonderful. Enjoy, and be safe. Groomers were out all night. To see exactly where we groomed download the Groomer Tracker app and buy up our club! We are operating with one down groomer (2 of 3 online) so be prepared to see groomers in the morning and afternoons as we try to keep up with traffic. This is a free permit weekend, which is synonymous with heavy traffic. Ride Right. Ride early, trails will be very rough this afternoon due to temps and traffic. Heavy snow for days ahead with cold temps. Be safe, take care of one another!

The snow is falling and the trails are in great condition. Stop in and gas up with our 91 non ethanol gas.
