TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> 01/19 Just rolling the snow!!! Groomer Mark and groomer Jeff got back out on the trails last night. Both reported that the trails have good areas and thin/snirty areas. Overall they rated them as good. Hopefully, we can get some lake effect with this cold weather. Keep doing those snow dances. Temperatures also climb above freezing through the overnight, remaining there until Thursday evening. The bad news is that gusty winds return late tonight into Thursday. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. This could lead to dangerous conditions for those without power or a safe source of heat. Does anyone have any information that would explain why Antrim County was excluded from the the governor’s State of Emergency?
