IRONWOOD – WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority – ORV & Snowmobile Club >> 01/21 I hope everyone is staying warm out there! Grooming operations are currently on hold due to extreme cold and mechanical issues. We’ve got 1 tractor with inoperable hydraulics. The tucker is having electrical issues leaving the lights not working. The sxs is in the shop having the clutch repaired. We will not dispatch the other tractor until the temperature rises/ the sxs is back in operation. Trails across our system are moderate to poor in some regions. Very icey conditions. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Arctic air persisting over the area will result in max temps only reaching into the single digits below zero today over the west half with highs near zero expected over the east half. Dangerously cold wind chills of 25 below to 45 below this morning will persist at around 25 below zero this afternoon into this evening. Temperatures will slowly rebound closer to normal from the middle to the end of the week.
