ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via North Country Snowmobile Club UP >> 01/23
COMMUNITY. UNBELIEVEABLE COMMUNITY.
To say this week has been a tough one would be an understatement. We had a serious failure of our 2019 PistenBully Monday night taking our entire grooming program offline Tuesday and Wednesday. Seeing us in significant need, Dave Dishaw of 906 Services Inc. 906 Outfitters and Dishaw Contracting, dropped everything he was doing and put in over 10 hours with Wyatt to recover the equipment back to the barn on Tuesday.
It’s not easy for a small business owner to drop their schedule with no notice and lend their expertise to a volunteer club in double digit below zero temperatures. DAVE, THANK YOU FROM EVERY SNOWMOBILER, BUSINESS OWNER, CLUB MEMBER, GROOMER OPERATOR!!!! If you need carbides, helmets, spark plugs, SERVICE WORK on your snowmobile, please be sure to support these businesses!!
And the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club boys…where do we start with Justin?! He has answered our calls for information and support continuously and even proactively. Their expertise is a key ingredient in our operation and we can’t thank them enough. It’s amazing to see all the clubs in the Western UP doing what they can to help one another.
Check out the Groomer Tracker app and buy up our club to see where we groomed last night!! Thank you Dennis, Wyatt, Mac, Ricky, and everyone who helps make this baby move!!

ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Scott's Superior Inn and Cabins >> A Ride to Remember with a True Trail Legend Some rides are just special, and today was one of them. I had the privilege of hitting the trails with none other than Rick, our very own “Trail Boss.” Rick has been riding from our hotel for over 35 years—long before I ever got on a sled myself. In fact, he used to watch me hop on the school bus in the mornings before heading out on his own ride. Today, we made our way to Victoria Falls, taking in the breathtaking beauty of the trails, the snow-covered trees, and the crisp winter air. There’s no better way to experience the backcountry than with someone who knows these trails like the back of his hand. Riding with an OG like Rick reminds me why we love this sport—it’s about the adventure, the people, and the places that keep calling us back year after year. Here’s to many more miles and memories on the trails! #ontonagon #westernup#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less
