Straits Area Trail Report – 01/30
STRAITS AREA UPDATE via Straits Area Snowmobile Club >> 01/30 Thursday January 30th. Everything is being groomed on a as needed basis. We are mostly flat and in good shape. The only issue to note is we do not have a big base on the rail road grade from Moran to St ignace. It is currently passable with a few thin spots and might get worse as the weekend gets busy. Our next snow chance comes on Saturday night. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Isolated light lake effect snow showers are possible Friday and Friday night, however better chances for widespread wet snow holds off until late in the day on Saturday. Widespread 3" to 5" inches of wet snow is possible from Saturday night through Sunday. Slippery road conditions are possible on Sunday morning. Snow showers end this afternoon over the west and diminish over the east into this evening. Dry weather does not last long as another round of light snow clips the UP tonight, best chances over the north.
