Gaylord Bureau – January 31, 2025 2:20 PM It’s a sunny day in Gaylord! The trails are in fair condition after the recent warmup and there may be some thin patches and wet spots. As always, please be aware of your surroundings and ride safely. Enjoy the trails! Check out this live feed to see trail #7, just north of Gaylord. It was up to 38 again yesterday and it softened things up but then very cold last night and that made everything ruttty and hard. I have had 3 sleds in here this morning that said they were getting hot and thats because they arent getting snow up in there to lube them up.Its now up to 21 degrees so that may help get things lubing again. First thing this morning there 3 guys all on old XLT’s. Havent seen 3 of them together in a long time. We might get a little snow later today according to weather. Thanks for checking in. Accumulating snow reenters the weather picture later Saturday night into Sunday morning. The snow may end as a period of light rain or drizzle Sunday afternoon into Sunday night. (1/31/2025) FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> Its 10:30 on a sunny 27 degree friday morning in downtown Frederic. I got here just after nine and there were about 15 or so sleds lined up at the swamp heading out for a pretty large group ride. Yesterday it was up to 41 and gave us more melting and settling than I would like to see but things have held up pretty well. Not sure what today is going to do. Wednesday things were so perfect and thursday was good too. This has lead to icy spots on roadways and/or black ice formation early this morning. How are the trail conditions WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> After the warm temperatures and melting snow during the day today (Thursday)...temperatures will drop off rapidly after sunset. This will lead to any wetness re-freezing on area roadways, which could lead to icy roadways and/or black ice formation tonight through Friday morning. Back roads, which became slushy today will refreeze as well, leading to complicated driving conditions. – Please move off the trail when groomers are approaching and allow them to safely pass.
– If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass.
– Grooming can take place at any time during the day or night, so stay alert.
– Always ride on the right side of the trail.
