Cadillac Area Trail Report – Cadillac Trails – 12/26
Hope you all had a great Christmas. There were few sledders in the area over the holidays and most reported having good riding conditions overall. Just in…a trail update from our Trail Coordinator Al Green: Based on my last groom (early this morning) I would say the trails rate at least a 7 on a 1 – 10 scale. The wide open forest roads around Olga Lake, the trail to Bristol, and the Pine River are flat and smooth and mostly white. The south 2 miles of the trail to Bristol, and the 2 miles of trail 35 between 10 Road and the Pine River are thin, brown, and down to dirt in many places. I actually groomed 10 Road back from the Pine River east to trail 35 on the way back. I went 2 miles north on trail 37 from the intersection of trail 35 (where the snow processor has been working this past week) and that portion of that trail was also white and smooth. A snowmobiler told me the trails farther towards Boon and Mesick were also in very good condition for the most part. There is some VERY GOOD riding out there, but there are also some areas that are not good! It appears there were very few riders on the trails on Christmas Eve and Christmas and the trails held up well. We know that will change starting on Sunday. Better watch the weather forecast closely, as they are forcasting warm temps. and even rain towards the end of the week (Thursday and Friday). I will try to update again early Wed. morning.
