Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/07

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 02/07

2/7/25
14 degrees this morning and snowing HARD on and off! Ole Mother Nature thru a hissy fit last night. It was blowing and snowing so hard it turned into a tough night for the groomers. One guy even had to stop cause he couldn`t see where he was going and almost got lost off the trail! Hard to say how much snow we got outa this but I`ll call 5-6" and a couple more this morning so far. Lots to tell ya`s so here we go……

Groomer Ben ran the Point trails #452 and #453 and called them excellent!

Groomer Mike H. hit the Falls trail #45 and said it was VERY rough on his way out but got it back to good on his way back.
Groomer Keith hit the Pine Stump trails 8/9 and called them good with a ton of drifting in "Siberia"……of course.

I ran trail #8 south and will call it good. The only exception is the swamp south of town which was beat on both the way out and the way back, I`ll rate that as just barely fair. A large water hole broke open about in the middle of da swamp but I was able to get it filled back in. If people would just slow down in there and stay off the hammer it would hold up a lot better.

All trails will be hit about around the clock this weekend so we can try to keep up. Keep a sharp eye out for the groomers, you may see them anytime and anywhere. PLEASE SLOW DOWN folks. Its gonna be busy out der!!!!

LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Groomer Chris

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> The weekend is shaping up to be a seasonably chilly winter weekend with a weather system passing through Wisconsin on Saturday. Most of the UP will see light snow Saturday and Saturday night, although no more than 1-3 inches for most of the area. Menominee County, however, has a chance of seeing 3-5 inches (especially south). Otherwise, some light lake effect snow will linger in the northwest wind belts. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsareaThe weekend is shaping up to be a seasonably chilly winter weekend with a weather system passing through Wisconsin on Saturday. CURTIS AREA UPDATE via Curtis Area Trail Association >> We focused on both the Naubinway & Newberry trails last night, sending both groomers down for overlapping grooms on our more heavily utilized trails.
One groomer left Curtis for the Newberry loop and then dropping down to Trail 2 and grooming to Hiawatha Trail H40.
We staged a driver swap at H40 and reversed groomed back thru our Newberry loop 45 and ultimately back to Curtis.
Our other groomer started out from Curtis, South to trail 457 to trail 2, thru Naubinway to Newberry loops of trail 45,and back to Curtis
This morning we also groomed our Germfask trail 43 east from Curtis up to Ten Curves Rd.
Trails all groomed up really well and with good snow cover. #curtis #newberry #snowphotos

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Halfway Lake Cottages, LLC >> Trail Update 02/06/2025
Currently it's 22 degrees and we are under a winter weather advisory. Up to 6 inches expected. It's been a very snow couple of weeks. Since the 19th of Janurary we have picked up north of 30 inches of snow. Our total for the year is already around 170 inches.
TASA has been grooming nightly. Last night trails 9 to Holland Lake staging area and 45 to the falls have booth been groomed. There is still some logging going on 45 as you get closer to the falls. Like normal the trail that runs the sides of 123 as you go into town is moguled out.
Paradise has been grooming all of their trails including 8 south heading tword Brimly. There still are reports of some open water in the swamp so be careful.
Some of the best news is that Curtis area trails have gotten enough snow to be grooming. Reports are good in that area.
This has been the first year in the last couple where you can pick a direction and go without to much concern. Local businesses needed it so be sure to get up here and do your best to support.
Until the next report ride safe. #newberry #snowphotosTrail Update 02/06/2025
