Benzie Manistee Snowbirds Trail Update: 2-15-25
Trails are currently Snow, Snow, Snow, covered 5-8" last few days 2-15-25 on the entire trail system, and groomed.
Manistee County good snow, Benzie County Good Snow, Leelanau County Good Snow,
Snowbirds Trails have been greatly improved this off season, lots of hedging brush and filling holes, the crew has been very busy Manistee County – Trail 3, snow covered, groomed. Highbridge, North good snow. 33 North to Kaleva is a little rough, the holes from wheeled use make it tough to fill, this will be addressed in the off season, bear with us. Chief grade 313, 389 to Bear Lake good snow. Thanks to Nate, Steve, and the crew!

Benzie County – Trail 39, 37, Good Snow, great snow on the trail in the woods, 3 North of US 31, great snow, reroute marked good, logging on old route. Thanks to Rick, Jim, and the crew!
Leelanau County – Trail 3 to Maple City, Good Snow, groomed. A part of this trail not signed, from North Benzie County line, go East, cross 669 on Pettingale Rd. go East, signed through fields, North and East to Newman Road, go North on Newman Rd. no signs on Newman, North to Kasson Center, go left, West to Pierce then right on trail, this is the connection to get to Maple City, Trail is signed from Pierce Rd to Maple City. Stay on trail, do not roost roads Please. Thanks to Joe and crew in the North.
WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Other than some lingering snow showers across the northwest snowbelts… conditions turn quiet tonight with partly cloudy skies and lows around 10 degrees for most locations. BENZIE - MANISTEE AREA UPDATE via Benzie Manistee Snowbirds >> The Snowbirds responded to a sled fire this after noon on trail 386 in Bear Lake. A 1998 Ski-Doo sled caught fire and burnt down on the trail. The Bear Lake fire department was called and put out the fire. The Snowbirds volunteers assisted with the sled and debris removal and tail clean up. The rider of the sled was not injured. #benzie#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less
