Gaylord Area Trail Report – 02/19
Gaylord Bureau – February 19, 2025 10:35 AM There’s no shortage of snow in Gaylord! It’s been a great season for riding so far and our trails have seen a tremendous amount of traffic. Unfortunately, both groomers are down with mechanical issues, so grooming has halted until repairs are complete. Currently, the trails are in fair shape but will likely get bumpier. We will keep you updated on the status of our groomers and let you know once grooming resumes. Ride safe and stay tuned for updates! Check out this live feed to see trail #7, just north of Gaylord. Riders out and about and I am hoping to go for a ride this afternoon. Its about noon on wednesday. Lots of snow out there and a little warm up coming for the weekend which will make for a good riding temp. Got a pic of the railroad plow going by here this morning and remember what I said about going off trail, Steve and Karen didnt listen to me and she got out of his track and into deep snow by a tree. They were going to get a come along to get the sled out. Its deep out there so be ready for anything. Once again right now if I do get to ride I am leaning towards jordan valley. Time will tell, I just need to get my things done around here. Also the Darkside Adventrues guys are at the begining of this years 2025 adventure thru Quebec, starting out tonight in St Zenon. Roughly 10 nites on the backpack adventure of a lifetime with their goal being 2025 miles in that time frame. FREDERIC - GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> Its gonna be a nice weekend but a warm up coming after sunday. Its a nice and calm 16 degrees in Frederic this thursday morning. I had a great ride yesterday leaving Sledheads and heading off to the west. Trail 679 was great and all the way to Starvation Lake was great, then on to Alba and the Jordan Valley Trail. Rode the valley trail and it was a little ripply but not horrible. From there to Elmira with a stop to see Larry at Sevenski Inn. Had a great talk with Larry, he is 91 and still running that place. He said he was going to get his loader started to move some more snow. He said he is just glad he can do that at his age. He looks darn good for 91 and it was very nice to have a talk with him... #gaylord #snowphotos frederic-mi.com I rode to waters from Mancelona road last night and mancelona road to lakes of the north today and it is terrible. Not good news on a Wednesday but it does explain all of the bad trail condition reports for the area. <> <>
– Please move off the trail when groomers are approaching and allow them to safely pass.
– If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass.
– Grooming can take place at any time during the day or night, so stay alert.
