TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> 02/19 Groomer Pat went out to groom the north trail. He rated the trails as excellent. Groomer Jeremy was out grooming on the east trail. He rated the trail as amazing. Thanks guys for volunteering your time on our trails. It looks like we are forecasted for a brief warmup starting this Sunday. Get out there and enjoy those trails. GTASC will continue to groom as long as the weather permits. Temperatures also climb above freezing through the overnight, remaining there until Thursday evening. The bad news is that gusty winds return late tonight into Thursday. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. This could lead to dangerous conditions for those without power or a safe source of heat. Does anyone have any information that would explain why Antrim County was excluded from the the governor’s State of Emergency?
