FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 02/24 Can’t I ever be happy? First its no snow, I want to ride, then we have snow and then to much snow, to much plowing, then more snow, great trails, then broke groomers. Now today its sunny and 43 degrees. Just no happy spot. From one extreme to the other. Snow to deep to ride in or easy to get stuck. Weather forcast for this next few days seems to warm so time will tell what the next step is going to be. On the bright side I had a great 60 mile ride to Lovells in yesterday and we found plenty of 2 plus feet fields of untouched snow. Got stuck a couple times and I fell off twice too. While its no fun getting unstuck it was a great ride and way to end up a sunday evening. Time will tell what this week brings us.Thanks for checking in and please ride safely. A system tracking through the region Wednesday will bring a wintry mix and light snow to the region, followed by a punch of cold air and snow Thursday with a clipper system. A more potent looking clipper system is possible Friday, resulting in potential for a wider range of temperatures across the area. Breezy southwesterly flow will melt snow and could boost temperatures well into the 40s, particularly if we are able to break into any sunshine this afternoon. A stray flurry or drizzle could linger into Tuesday, with slightly cooler but still warm temperatures ahead of a more organized system that will bring the wintry mix potential back to the area for Wednesday…with potential for some accumulating snow in its wake Thursday with a potent punch of cold air. Lots of sleds over at the swamp but I havent heard much brapping going on out there. Steady flow of riders thru here this morning and its now about 1:30 and only 24 degrees. Thats good cause predictions were for warmer than that today. Snow settled a little bit yesterday but we still have an awful lot of snow on the ground. I heard of a serious crash yesterday on trail 7 out by 5 mile road south of Grayling. It didnt sound good so Please ride safely and under control. I always say those sleds will kill you in the blink of an eye. Thanks for checking in. Weekly plan, groom early and groom late a couple days this week. Trails have been in great shape, this warmup will help us out and tighten the snow up, shouldn’t hurt us at all. #jordanvalley #gaylord #snowphotos
