What’s happening - it did rain but then went to snow about 10am. Snowed on & off all day then really kicked in early evening. The groomers are getting out there but with conditions, visibility is rough. Please be aware of the following and drive with caution, especially as winds continue thru tomorrow - tomorrow will be a day that requires patience while getting here!
1. Grommers are getting out but be on the lookout for down trees
2. There was a tree down on 407 between the Bear Ranch and our road, it probably is being removed as I type (county was called) but that does not mean there will not be more - use caution on 407/Deer Park Road
3. Roads were rough - the wind is blowing and freezing almost immediately so it feels like you are on rumble strips for a good stretch
4. To go along with #3, the roads are slick and while the county will plow there will be a lot of drifts - this is not I-75 so take it easy and get here safely please #newberry #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

34 degrees this morning and raining....WTH? It looks like it might change to wet snow a little later today and then the temps will drop into the 20`s tonight. I guess all I can say is keep an eye on the weather....I know ya`ll do anyhow.
All trails were run yesterday and I talked with every operator and they all said the same thing.....the trails are still in great shape!!!! Even groomer Mike C. who ran the Point trails let the excellent word slip out and I have never heard him say that!!! Yes, they are a little mushy but they are flat!!!!! With the drags that we use we can groom in this warmer weather. With the colder temps at night they will be good to go. I think this weekend will be fine, just expect the paved roads to be bare and the plowed dirt roads that we use for connectors will be down to mud.
Unfortunately, I have a family emergency I have to attend to down state so this will be my last report till at least next week.....sorry. Hopefully somebody else will fill my shoes until I get back if something major happens.
