Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 03/16

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western UP Trail Reports >> 03/16

Sunday March 16th
Our snow is dwindling pretty fast, but I’ve still got nearly 3-foot on the old merc. To bad it’s as hard as a rock now that its only 20° this morning. I’ll be keeping an eye on our weather since we do have some snow in the forcast. However nothing looks like a ball buster storm. I’m not giving up yet there’s still some riding for those of us that aren’t quiters. 🤣

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports >> Starting this post off with the fact that we KNOW that the majority of you sitting at home have no interest in spring/late season riding BUT there are some that do, and to help answer multiple messages in one place, we are sharing this information….
MANY riders that rode the area last week and this weekend have all said that they are SO happy they took the chance against what they were being told “the season is over” and actually came to ride.
You are either one up for the challenges of late season riding or your not! #keweenaw #snowphotos

Looks like 57° the next 2 days with rain on Saturday. I'm thinking this is going to be the last weekend of half way decent riding in my area. We'll have to see what happens next week.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> With a recent lack of snowfall and mild temperatures, we have certainly seen quite a bit of snow disappear! Here at the office we are (roughly) down to 6 inches. Snow is deeper in some parts and lower/gone in other parts of the property but after this weekend, most if not all snow will be gone. For any winter lovers... The U.P will be your best bet for any winter activities for the second half of March! Disclaimer... This snow depth map is not 100% accurate. As many of you know, snow does not accumulate or melt the same over very small locations. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskey #straitsarea #soo #newberry #seney #munising #marquette #westernup #keweenaw ...
