GRAND MARAIS AREA UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. >> 03/20 Well we got some snow overnight. Its not perfect, but it’s workable. I just ran town loop to see how it was. We are going to groom all trails today. Our west trail will be a partial groom. The section of 89 and trail 8 from the park and ride at Adams Trail road up to 89 will not get groomed. The section runs on H58, and the blacktop has warmth on it and making slushy conditions. The edges are frozen and just chunk into ice chunks if we try to groom them. Ride right, and ride safe. You folks are just fantastic!! Schoolcraft County Motorized Trails Association quit grooming three weeks ago, and you folks just keep helping the local businesses with tour efforts!! Trails for the most part groomed up fantastic, although there were a couple wet areas opening up off Sandtown Rd. but were rideable. Our groomer was kept busy by numerous fallen trees in trails from the recent high winds.
Last night's grooms will be the last grooms for the season and today, both groomers were loaded up and shipped back to the dealership for some needed service work.
The grooming season overall was pretty busy for our team and even with a couple warm ups and down weeks, the club ended up setting a milestone for grooming more miles this season, than in any other season since the club was originally founded. A huge shout out to all the Curtis Area Trails team members and the community support in making it all happen. #curtis #newberry #snowphotos
