Well guess what,,,,,,😁
Coming out of Newberry looks like January.
The stretch outta Newberry?
Incredible! didn’t look like that Saturday night at all!
Smooooth, all snow, just squished it flat no need for cutting.
See what happens as we go, heading to Windy Corners.
I know there’s more than enough snow here on up, maybe start pondering an extended season? 2 40⁰ days isn’t going to hurt what we’ve got going here 😉

TROUT LAKE – NEWBERRY – SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via The Rail House-Trout Lake MI >> 03/24
We made it out this past weekend and it looks like we will be able to get out again this coming weekend 👏 We will never tell you its rideable if we are not willing to ride in the same conditions. *Disclaimer- it is NOT pretty getting in or out of any town. Think nails on a chalkboard. BUT once you get into the woods it’s perfect
On Saturday we attempted to go South out of Trout Lake on 473. The Molly Gibson was junk. Huckleberry around the lake was OK but heading straight south past the the big sand hill was bare. We turned around. We then headed North out of town and took trail 47 down the side of 123 and then across heading West on the Bobby Gay. That also had multiple bare spots but we were able to navigate around them. Once we hit Wilwin and headed back East the trails were great. Some curves were thin and there was an ice crust so scratchers were needed but we were able to ride.
On Sunday we headed up to Brimley! We took 47 North of town but then headed East on the Bobby Gay. This portion of trail was MUCH better! Headed back North on Dick Rd which was surprisingly easy. There are some truck ruts in the middle of the road but the shoulders are good 👍 From here on out the trails were amazing. We didn’t even need our scratchers!!! We rode up to Mission Hill, down Plantation Rd (that was rough), across the Bay to the gas station and up back to trail 8/the railroad grade.
Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association has their trails in BEAUTIFUL shape. I do wish that Brimley would work with the snowmobilers and leave shoulders or banks for sleds to utilize. Some landowners don’t seem to mind but there are some that must’ve gotten burnt by irresponsible riders and have their properties blocked off 🙁 As tempting as it is, PLEASE do not ride thru lawns or around flags.
Overnight, we got about 2″ of fresh snow and the forecast this week supports even more snow and favorable temperatures!!! If you are looking to ride, the cabin is open! Contact us!!

CURTIS AREA UPDATE via Curtis Area Trail Association >> Last night we groomed the 457/45 (Helmer /Newberry) trails and also did the northern portion of trail 2, from the trail 9 (Rexton Tee intersection) south to Hiawatha Trail H40 and back to Curtis. Trails for the most part groomed up fantastic, although there were a couple wet areas opening up off Sandtown Rd. but were rideable. Our groomer was kept busy by numerous fallen trees in trails from the recent high winds. Last night's grooms will be the last grooms for the season and today, both groomers were loaded up and shipped back to the dealership for some needed service work. The grooming season overall was pretty busy for our team and even with a couple warm ups and down weeks, the club ended up setting a milestone for grooming more miles this season, than in any other season since the club was originally founded. A huge shout out to all the Curtis Area Trails team members and the community support in making it all happen. #curtis #newberry#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less
You folks are just fantastic!! Schoolcraft County Motorized Trails Association quit grooming three weeks ago, and you folks just keep helping the local businesses with tour efforts!!
I rode Newberry to Curtis last weekend, super flat and fast.
