Petoskey / Mancelona Trail Report – 01/25
Petoskey Snowmobile Club – 01/25 Rode 80 miles yesterday and we are fortunate in the Chandler Hill – Springbrook area to have more snow than Wolverine or Indian River the closer to Vanderbilt -Gaylord we picked up more snow again. It was great to be finally riding again. Our trails are in good shape, we need to keep receiving fresh snow. Another cold day -13 degrees this morning. Both groomers were scheduled to go out last night. Stay warm. The new trail into Petoskey IS OPEN! It goes from our clubhouse trailhead (on the corner of Cedar Valley Rd. and Evergreen Trail) to the Odawa Casino just south of Petoskey. The trail has a few road crossings, including having to cross US-131 at Lears Rd. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE use extreme caution when crossing any road. STAY ON THE TRAIL and obey traffic signals. Safety first. http://www.petoskeysnowmobileclub.org Mancelona Trail Report trails are being groomed. We put a demo drag on the back of the Piston Bulley Saturday. It is a Dubie Groomer with dual wings, grooming over twelve foot wide in one pass. This is the same drag we have behind the John Deere but with one more wing. Hard to get John A. back down on the ground after using this drag yesterday. Looks like we may be able to try this drag out for a few more days and John will miss it when it is gone. trails are the best they have been so far this year.
