Grayling Trail Report – Fay’s Motel – 01/27
Greetings Sledders, No major changes to the conditions. Folks that have been out riding are reporting decent and good rides and we are grooming on schedule. The type of snow that we are dealing with is the thing to think about as you are riding. It’s no different than heading into an icy corner in as much as the snow is loose and the carbides are searching for something to grab hold of and if there’s a build up of the loose snow you’re going to slide through if you’re going too fast. It’s just that simple!! I see on my Big Fat Buddha Buddy’s website that people are asking about trail conditions in the area where the lady got hurt last Sunday and the answer to that is above. We just haven’t had good packing snow all season and the base is loose. It is what it is and please be careful. The area where the accident took place is really not any different than the rest of our trail system. LET’S GO: WEATHER: TRAILS: Ride Often and Please Be Safe, At Fay’s Motel enjoy direct access to the Grayling Area snowmobile trails.
We’ve had just a touch of snow today and the guessing gurus are calling for 2-3 maybe 4" to fall Friday night and into Saturday morning. Anything we get is a blessing and it all adds up. Temps look to hold.
Like I said in the preamble leading off this gibberish stuff, conditions haven’t changed. Expect okay rides but not premium by any means. If you’re going to wait for premium rides here you may be waiting for a bit. There will be a mixed bag once again for this weekend and we will do our best to keep up with the traffic.
