Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 02/07
It’s a great Monday on the Keweenaw – a little chilly but fresh snow for everyone today. Students are hard at work on the snow statues (check out the Virtual Keweenaw page of keweenaw.info to see live updates on the webcams!) Trail, all kinds, are in terrific shape. Going to be a bit chilly this week – temps in the low teens. What are you waiting for? COME ON UP! The snowmobile trails from TwinLakes to CopperHarbor are open, and groomers are out working on them. Trails are reported to be in good to very good condition except for the High Rock trail which is in fair condition due to low snow. Remember to watch out for the groomers when you’re out on the trails…….they have the right of way!! The Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau asks that you stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, please, drive safely. The signs on the snowmobile trails are there for the riders’ safety. Please, DO NOT remove or destroy these signs.
There is logging on a short portion of Trail 133 between Gay and Lac La Belle.
