Michigan Trail Report

St. Ignace Trail Report – Straits Area Snowmobile Club – 01/05

Trails have been panned down, and are in OK or decent shape. Things are thin, and there are problem areas, so we are talking about early-early type season riding here.

The Cedarville connector isn’t done, nor the Caffey, and will wait for more snow on those. The Truck Trails North of Brevort have some dirt mixed in due to cutting the logging tuck runts down. Groomer Dave said the pipeline section is also junk. Everything else has between 1-3′ of base on it.

Forecast is warming up until Saturday, then in the 20s for 2 or 3 days. If we get any traffic on Thursday & Friday, it may well trash what we have, but it is possible to ride right now, just be mindful and use those early season rules.

Groomers will not run again until we get more snow, which is looking like mid-next week at the earliest. I can’t believe we are having another winter like this. Gonna be tough to take 3 consecutive years of this.
