Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 03/04
There were alot of riders out on the trails yesterday. There was alot of snow on the trails. A very wet heavy snow. Many trees down on the trails also. You definitely did not want to get off trail because if you did you discovered just how deep the snow is. The trails around us were rough. We saw the groomer go by once. It just wasn’t easy to groom with all the moisture in the snow, underneath was slush. It is 8 degrees this morning so its gotten good and cold. We are all hopeful that with the cold temps, now the trails will hold and give a much better ride. So many people without power up here from the storm and those downed trees (over lines). The power companies stopped in to rent sleds to enable them to get back to check lines.
Several people had to dig sleds out.
