Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – Sault Snow Report – 11/28
Only 2 days until trails open again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trails are closed until Dec 1 and it is illegal to operate your sled on ‘public’ land during firearm deer season except from 11am-2pm or after dark, with a few other exceptions. Emergency, to & from deer blind, but no pleasure riding. Grooming may start on Dec 1 if the snow looks like it will stay. We will not be grooming, at this time of the year, if it looks like the snow will melt in a few days due to warm temps or rain. But there is 8-12 inches of fresh snow in places that may provide a great early ride, lots of wet areas, nothing is frozen up yet. Join us on Facebook also. The trails in Brimley are groomed by us not Bay Mills, the Bay Mills Tribe does the loop North of Raco, up to their Casino only. Sault Ste. Marie to Brimley, Trail #8 – Base 0-1 inches -Trail is in Poor Condition. Go with the flow of traffic on the bridge in Brimley! Brimley to Raco, Trail #8 – Base 0-1 inches -Trail is in Poor Condition. Make sure you go with the flow of traffic when crossing the bridge in Brimley or you will be ticketed!!!!! Raco to Naomikong Trail #8 [where Paradise meets us], Trail #8 – Base 0-1 inches – Trail is Poor Condition. Sault Ste. Marie City Trail, Trails #497, #449, parts of #8 & #49 – Base 0-1 inches – Trail is in Poor Condition. City curfew is from 1am – 6 am. Remember most City streets are open to traffic, 20 mph, stop at all intersections, and ride the right hand side of street not on side walks. Watch for closed streets that are posted, mainly around the hospital, university, and state trunk lines. Sault Ste. Marie to Kinross, Trail #49 – Base 0-1 inches – Trail is in Poor Condition. When the trail is running along roads make sure you go with the flow of traffic on the right side of the road. Kinross loop and south to Pickford, parts of Trail #49, #494, #472 Base 0 inches – Trail is in Poor Condition. Kinross to Raco, Trail # #480 & #472 Base 0-1 inches – Trail is in Poor Condition. The Downtown Trail has not been groomed do to low snow, but it is marked. The city will not set up the barrels until we have enough snow. Martin Cottle, Grooming Chairman
