Western U.P. Trail Report – Western U.P. Bureau – 01/04
Things are looking pretty bleak. Lots of sunshine today and tomorrow with a chance of snow on Sunday. Temps will be in the upper 20’s. We need more snow!!!! The Gogebic Range Trail Authority reports: Not much to report, trail 2, 8 and 160 have been groomed. Watch for icy spots and wet spots. Trail 2 from Ramsay to Marenisco expect bare spots. Trail 8 has bare spots with icy corners. Use caution on 160 there is a swamp which is not frozen so be careful…. closer to the lake the snow is marginal. Trails 11s and 11n are not groomed we need more snow before groomers will go out to groom these trails. It is still early season riding we need more snow to get the trails in great shape. Be Patient!!! The Lake Gogebic groomers reports all trails are rolled. Groomers have not been out for the last few days we need more snow. Expect icy corners wet spots and bare spots. Remember it is early season riding conditions. More snow is needed to get the trails in great shape. The Watersmeet groomers have not gone out yet they need more snow. All areas need more snow….keep in mind groomers can be out day or night so watch out for them and please pull over or slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by. Please be careful on corners as you know several Michigan Trail signs have been discontinued. These signs are posted on our trail map. PLEASE BE SAFE!!!!
