It’s still snowing off and on with more on the way. A word of warning, we’ve posted the red and yellow flags; there is ice on the trails. The groomers are going out tonight. Not included below is the fact that it is very cold, with night time temps in the zero or below range for tonight and tomorrow night.

… Lake effect Snow Advisory in effect…

As of 1 PM… lake effect snow showers continue east of Munising. The heaviest snow showers… reducing visibility to less than one-half mile… were located from Melstrand across the Kingston Plains area and into northern Luce County… affecting portions of Highway M77 but well to the north of M-28.

Look for additional snowfall amounts after 11 am of 2 to 5 inches… with the most snow falling from Munising and Melstrand to Pine Stump Junction. Additional accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected tonight before the lake effect snow diminishes. Locations south and west of a line from Deerton to Chatham will see accumulations of a dusting to 2 inches… mostly late this afternoon and tonight.

Northwest winds gusting to 25 to 35 mph near the Lake Superior shore this afternoon and early evening will produce areas of blowing and drifting snow.
