Cadillac Area Trail Report – 01/26
Had a chance to get out on the trails myself yesterday and had an awesome ride. We were riding S of M55 and mostly in the forest. We’ve picked up more snow over the last few days and it has settled in to make a huge difference. It was obvious the further south we went the less snow we found but the trails were smooth–ICE and snow covered. No snirt anywhere. We didn’t go N of M55 where there is reported to be more snow. I haven’t received any recent reports on the condition of the White Pine or Cadillac West Business District to Pole Rd trail but I would expect they would be fair to good as of today. We have a 2 inch hard-pack snow base over solid ice south of M55 (potential more north of M55 to Mesick.) It’s safe to say the snowmobile season is back on track here in the Cadillac area. Snow accumulation: 7 to 10 inches REMEMBER there are fewer signs in the woods this winter so when you finally do get a chance to ride, take your time and enjoy the ride. The need for speed may be costly to you and to others. Assume every trail is a winding trail and be ready for the next curve. A reminder to those who enjoy riding the White Pine Trail, State Park officials have asked snowmobilers to ‘refrain from operating snowmobiles when less than four inches of snow cover the trail.’ * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * VIA CADILLAC WINTER PROMOTIONS
