Benzie Area Trail Report – 01/31
We did receive about 2 inches of new snow last night and forecast calling for more today. Snow, snow, snow is what we need. Groomer Guys report that the base on the trails was packed hard enough and deep enough that it held up well and the cold temps will help to make it solid again. If we continue to get snow the groomers will go out tomorrow night. Clubhouse will be open on Saturday from 10-4 stop in for a visit and some refreshments. After a couple warm days, yesterday over 50, we are back cold today and snow has started falling again. Forecast is for anywhere from 5-10′! So the trails turned pretty slushy in the last couple days but they are gonna freeze back up now. Base is still pretty good and will harden up better now and the new snow on top will give us back some snow we lost with the warm up. Temps dropping back into the teens they say good Lake Effect through the weekend so we should be back looking good by the weekend! Please remember to be aware of the new signage program! Some signs are gone now so you gotta be aware out there! Plus, if ya see a groomer, get outta their way and give them a thumbs up.
