St. Ignace Trail Report – 02/12

We survived the fairly major rainstorm and have come out OK. Everything is frozen back up this morning and very very crunchy. What we did loose is all the powder riding, and a good part of the cooling/lubrication snow on the RR Grade. There are portion especially though Moran that it looks like a skating rink. We sent the Iggy groomer out at what was supposed to be the perfect time last night, and it never cooled down, so we was squeegeeing slush in some portions of the trail Brevort machine is going out this morning to get things broken out and leveled back down. Iggy machine will run again either Wednesday or Thursday.
Stop me is you have heard this before – downed trees. Wayne came across a couple down, and a decent amount of bent over trees again. I know we have a good sized one near Trout Lake, Bobby will get it later today. Keep on the lookout though of the next few days, it should get warm enough to knock the ice off soon.

So we need snow again. Everything is flat fast smooth and ICY. Be careful out there, and in the meantime we will try to break the surface up to get some cooling action going.
Forecast doesn’t have a lot of snow potential, but the temps are good:
§ Tonight Occasional flurries. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. West wind around 5 mph.
§ Wednesday Occasional flurries before 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 32. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
