Cadillac Area Trail Report – 02/27
Update: The storm that hit southern Michigan so hard in the last 12 hours brought us at least a couple inches of snow but the high winds are blowing it around so much it’s really hard to tell how much we actually got. There is light snow in the air now but we are not projected to get much more snow in the next 12 hours. Our groomers are out there so watch for them. Trail Conditions: Good to Very Good February 26: REMEMBER there are fewer signs in the woods this winter so when you finally do get a chance to ride, take your time and enjoy the ride. The need for speed may be costly to you and to others. Assume every trail is a winding trail and be ready for the next curve. A reminder to those who enjoy riding the White Pine Trail, State Park officials have asked snowmobilers to ‘refrain from operating snowmobiles when less than four inches of snow cover the trail.’ * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * VIA CADILLAC WINTER PROMOTIONS
We are experiencing a warm stretch this week with today being the warmest day possibly reaching 40 degrees. Snow is compacting and in some places the ice base is beginning to surface. Sledders are reporting the White Pine needs more snow in places. The trails west of Cadillac are in great shape as we still have plenty of snow. The groomers are out there every day and night unless it is too warm to groom. We are reportedly on the edge of a storm expected to arrive tonight and Wednesday. Hopefully we will pick some more flakes then.
