Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 03/20

The first day of Spring, hahahahahaha, get on your sled and ride. Leave the golf clubs in the closet we have another month of sled riding yet looking at the long range weather forecast (guessers). Temps are to sat in the 30’s most daytime and get down below freezing every night for the next 2 weeks. Snow will not melt fast when it gets cold every night. This morning we had 15 degrees and 2-3 new inches of snow. Put the sled on the trailer and head to the U.P.

March 20

We have had 2-3 inches of new snow last night. Some road shoulders were bared off if you are planning on using them.

Trails are in the best condition of all year, flat, white and groomed.

Trails are all in good to excellent shape, but the longer the time after a groom the the rougher they get. Groomers are out smoothing out the trails daily. Hopefully if you find a not so smooth section you found many more that were freshly groomed. Groomers run 24/7 on different sections. Trails are generally groomed once a day on weekends and everyother day during the week depending on traffic, temps, and breakdowns.
