Cadillac Area Trail Report – 12/01
December 1, 2013 Yesterday we lost some serious snow. The snow gauge here in Cadillac West went from 5 inches on Friday to barely 2 inches last night. It’s expected to be a bit warmer today than yesterday so that isn’t going to help our situation either. Looks like we are just going to have to be patient. If you are in the area, please stay off the lakes. They froze over just this week. November 29, 2013 Trails open in two more days–Sunday December 1. The snow on our system at this time is marginal. We have 5-6 inches in the Cadillac West and Boon areas with no base. The snow is packy and the ground had a chance to freeze up some before the snow arrived. It’s doubtful there is enough snow on the White Pine Trail yet for riding. Remember the State Park folks have asked we not ride on the White Pine Trail until there is at least 4 inches of snow. There is no great amount of snow expected between now and Sunday. Hang in there. We are off to a good start. —– To better access the forest trails, you’ll want to use one of the Staging Areas below: 33 Rd Staging Area–S of M-55–approx.. 3 miles west of Cadillac on M-55 (watch for signs) Caberfae Staging Area–approx.. 12 miles west of Cadillac on M-55 (watch for signs) Boon Staging Area–park in plowed area south of Boon Grocery Note: The porta-a-johns were removed from our staging areas today as our contracts on them expired 3-15-13. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * VIA CADILLAC WINTER PROMOTIONS
