Our bitterly cold spell is almost over. Our temp for today is suppose to be high of 2, our ten day forecast looks good with temps in the double digits which will be above 0. We also have snow in the forecast for the next ten days. Overall conditions look good. Our snow to date in Ironwood is 68.1 inches which will very across the region.

The Gogebic Range Trail Authority – Trail 2 and 8 are in good to very good condition. Trail 160 was groomed and is in good condition. Trail 11N was groomed; the groomer broke through the swamp and is reporting lots of water and mud. Hopefully it will now freeze with our cold temps. It is in poor to fair condition. Please be careful on corners, snow cover is thin. We have gotten word from the DNR trail 11S will be closed due to logging this winter. Please dress warm this weekend.

The Lake Gogebic groomer’s report: Grooming has resumed. Trails are packed really well do to our cold weather. Condition of trails are good to very good. Watch for signs posted on the bridge out on Trail 8, east of Bergland, it will be rerouted over the dam at the north end of the lake. This is marked so use caution in this area. The gas station in Bergland has reopened and is renamed the "Bergland Outpost" this is great news.

The Watersmeet groomer’s report: Groomers went out on the 6th. Trails are good to very good condition.

Please remember groomers are out both day and night, so watch for them, Please pull over or at least slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by whenever you see them.

JUST ONE MORE REMINDER: PLEASE STAY ON MARKED TRAILS. RIDING ON UNMARKED TRAILS CAN RESULT IN THE CLUBS LOSING EASEMENT FOR THAT TRAIL AND IT CAN ALSO RESULT IN A POSSIBLE TICKET FOR YOU.
