We were pleasantly surprised this morning to find an additional 6" on the snow gauge and a severe lake effect warning through 7pm this evening. Not much more I can say; it just keeps getting better! From 1/14: Our groups riding yesterday rated the trails as "excellent" "awesome" and "phenomenal." Cannot beat that. There will be a lot of traffic for this coming weekend, but snow is in the forecast. Why head north and cross the bridge to ride? You can go miles and miles without seeing a stop sign and frequently without seeing another sled! CAUTION: Trail #45 (Newberry-Tahq Falls) will be plowed starting January 8th from Skyline to Atwood Association for logging. PLEASE BE ALERT AND WATCH OUT FOR TRUCKS AND TRAIL CONDITIONS. Surround yourself in lake effect snow and ride a different direction each day! We are located 12 mi NW of Newberry (Halfway to Lk Superior) and 7 miles south of Pine Stump Junction. Newberry Trail Report – Halfway Lake Resort – 01/16
We had a couple of days of above freezing temps with below freezing at night. Here at Halfway Lake we had wet snow but did not see rain. We have lost 2 inches on the snow gauge since Friday. Our dirt road we are located remains snow covered without dirt showing through.
